We offer our knowledge for the evaluation of the efficiency of commercial or newly designed three-way catalysts. Our facilities allow to measure the capability to oxidize CO and light hydrocarbons and to reduce selectively the NO to N2, as a function of temperature, contact time and lambda.
We are also equipped for the evaluation of catalytic activity towards the oxidation of particulate matter, a challenging requirement for the automotive sector.
Beside these, we can set up customized protocols for the aging of the catalysts, in order to estimate their life span and to identify the main deactivation mechanisms occurring in the catalytic converters, such as sintering due to high temperatures (> 800°C), reversible/irreversible chemical poisoning (by CO2, soot).
